Innovative
and radically ahead of his time, Bruce Lee developed
a martial system and fighting strategy that
has lost none of its effectiveness over time.
Emphasizing the "ranges of combat". Students
are taught to confidently "flow" from long distance,
"kicking- range", to middle distance, "hand-range",
to close quarter, "trapping & grappling range".
Dan Inosanto was Bruce Lee's most skillful and
senior student. East Wind Academy's senior instructor
(Norris Domangue) is directly trained and certified
by Inosanto.
MUAY THAI KICK
BOXING
Developed
in Thailand the devastating art of Muay Thai
utilizes the practitioner's natural weapons,
knees, elbows, kicks and punches. Care is taken
to teach students proper form and body mechanics
to eliminate injuries and gain maximum effectiveness.
The class places an emphasis on the physical
conditioning and cardiovascular benefits of
Thai Boxing.
FILIPINO MARTIAL
ARTS
Kali-Eskrima-Silat
A complete defense program that introduces students
to 12 main areas, including, but not limited
to single stick, double stick, stick & dagger,
and unarmed techniques. Drills are taught in
a fluid, non-restrictive manner allowing students
to enhance their sense of timing, speed, awareness,
balance, agility, and confidence. Everyday objects,
such as umbrellas, books, bandannas, etc., become
effective means of self-defense.
GROUND FIGHTING/GRAPPLING
East Wind Academy offers a top-notch ground
fighting program sanctioned under Marc McFann
who in addition to being a recognized authority
in Kali, Silat and Muay Thai, has developed
an extremely effective blend of Judo, Ju Jitsu,
Silat, and Shoot fighting. We teach the student
in a safe, controlled environment the use of
sweeps, throws locks and chokes with and without
the Gi.
KOREAN ARTS
PROGRAM
Hapkido
consists of numerous joint locking and throwing
techniques as well as striking and kicking.
It is well known for its manipulation of joints
and pressure points allowing the practitioner
to execute effective techniques with very little
strength or effort.
Tae Kwon Do
(TKD) is a Korean art over 2,000 years
old. It has developed to become one of the most
formidable kicking arts in the world.
